The University of Western Australia is proud to host this public lecture from Professor Carol Weissert, 2015 Fulbright-Flinders Distinguished Chair in American Political Science.

Professor Weissert will discuss the tumultuous and bombastic 2016 American Presidential Race, analysing current events in the context of political science research and electoral history. She will speak on the importance of party primaries, the influence of campaign money and big donors, role of the press, expected turnout, supporter profiles, and overall assessments of the election and how it reflects the current democratic process in the U.S.
