This presentation will address selected case studies applied to a range of different problems of relevance to materials science, catalysis, environmental applications or pharmaceutical and petroleum industries, difficult to solve by other solid-state characterisation tools. The presentation is structured for scientists not familiar with SSNMR and will start with a brief introduction to some basic aspects of the technique flying over the main strategies to eliminate anisotropic line broadening effects and deliver high-resolution SSNMR spectra allowing thus to take advantage of the technique to study the systems mentioned.
