Recent headlines have highlighted the risks that can erode a corporation's social licence. In many cases, the conduct of large and sophisticated institutions has threatened aspects of their social licence - from perceived tax evasion by multinational corporations, through to operations that fall below community expectations. Alongside this, the rise of social media has broadened the stakeholder base who now demand a voice in relation to the affairs of corporations.
Best practice risk management systems, internal controls, legal support, and sound corporate governance policies are not necessarily sufficient to protect organisations from the risk of damage to their social licence. Questions to arise from this shift include: Are we seeing a change in community expectations? Are organisations adapting to these changes? What are some of the warning signs of a social licence at risk? What steps are leading organisations taking to adapt to the new paradigm?
Join our panel of corporate leaders as they share their insights, experiences and lessons in relation to the management and protection of the social licences enjoyed by the organisations they lead.
