The Symposium of WA Neuroscience (SWAN) will begin with a plenary presentation from Professor Jeffrey Rosenfeld, at 17:30 on Wednesday 8 April, at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. The meeting will continue on 9 April at the same venue, featuring four themed sessions on: (i) neurotrauma, sponsored by the Neurotrauma Research Program of WA; (ii) general neuroscience; (iii) neuroscience in development and (iv) neurological disorders. Each session will include presentations from distinguished interstate and local speakers as well as student and early career researcher presentations selected from submitted abstracts. The finals of the Australia and New Zealand Brain Bee will be held in the middle of the day, followed by a poster session over lunch, and we will conclude with a Sundowner with live entertainment.
Honours students, PhD students and post-doctoral researchers are encouraged to submit abstracts for oral and/ or poster presentations. Independent judges will select winners to receive prizes in each category of oral presentation as well as a best poster prize. Abstracts are to be less than one page in length, submitted by 6 March via email to
[email protected].
Registration is free and closes on 27 March. A finalised program will be available and circulated to registrants closer to the date.
