EVENT: Oceans Community 2014
|
|
Oceans Community is a once a year event created for the broader community who want to better understand marine issues in WA and contribute in some way to the marine environment.
This year's event has been organised by The Oceans Community and the UWA Oceans Institute with the objective to increase WA citizens’ awareness and engagement with the Oceans Institute’s vision: ‘Ocean Solutions for Humanity’s Grand Challenges’.
The theme of this year’s event is Deep Ocean. The Deep Ocean is the largest habitat on earth but the world’s least explored environment – we know more about the surface of the moon than we do about the deep seafloor. Despite the challenges of exploration in such a remote environment, we must explore the mysteries of the Deep Ocean as we continue to rely on it for sustenance, transport, commerce and growth.
Join the UWA Oceans Institute for a fascinating afternoon discovering deep-sea research, here in Western Australia and globally.
