Do you teach a capstone? Might you teach one soon? Are you interested in innovative approaches to teaching that facilitate student learning? Or are you a faculty executive member/learning adviser/staff developer/program director interested in curriculum development generally, and capstones in particular? The Capstone Project Team[1] brings you the findings of their research on good practice in capstone courses in undergraduate business degrees across Australia. The workshop will present good practice principles and practical ideas for those developing or ‘refreshing’ capstone courses. We will provide diverse examples of good practice drawn from various business disciplines.
We are now road-testing our ‘Guide’ (we’ll give you a copy at the workshop). If you teach an innovative capstone, tell us about it; it might end up as a case study in the final version of the ‘Guide’! The first part of the workshop will cover capstones at the broader level, while the latter part will be devoted to discussion and interactive workshopping of some key issues.
