Dialogue: Religion, violence, peace : Anthropology lecture open to all students Other events...
Does religion cause violence? Or are most religious traditions peaceful until they are harnessed for political ends? Such questions have dominated public discourse on religion in the era of the ‘war on terror.’ This anthropology unit lecture will be of interest to students from all degrees.
Speaker(s) Panel discussion with guests: Jarrod McKenna, Founder of Empowering Peacemakers in our Community and Anne Aly, Research Fellow at Curtin University on terrorism, counter-terrorism and mediated representations of terrorism.
