EVENT: Retreat for Teachers, Researchers and Administrators

This retreat will be held 29th November to 1st December 2010. The retreat will provide a focussed, but also easy going, space for participants to engage more deeply with the inner life which sustains teaching, research and leadership practice. This is done using a combination of reflection on poetry texts; reflective questions; writing/journalling; and time alone for personal rest/walking. Boundary markers are carefully agreed at the beginning so that everyone feels safe to participate at whatever level they wish, without pressure. We aim to create an environment of trust and the unanimous feedback we have received from previous retreats (2008 and 2009) is that this objective has been achieved. The retreat approach is based on the work of Parker J Palmer, whose books "The Courage to Teach"; "A Hidden Wholeness"; and "Let your Life Speak" have been influential in our thinking and practice.
