PRESENTATION: Literary Lessons and the Student Experience

On Thursday 3rd August, distinguished scholars and teachers Professor Heather Dubrow and Professor Michael Best will give a combined teaching and learning presentation entitled "Literary Lessons and the Student Experience".
Professor Dubrow will speak on "The Humanities in American Universities", focusing on the changing place of the humanities in the US higher education system, with emphasis on the student experience. Professor Dubrow has written extensively about teaching and learning issues throughout her career, having received the Chancellor's Distinguished Teaching Award at the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 2001 and published widely, including in 'The Chronicle of Higher Education'.
Professor Michael Best will be speaking on "Using Electronic Texts: Experience in Creating and Teaching The Internet Shakespeare". He is now Professor Emeritus at the University of Victoria, British Columbia. He has published books on Renaissance magic and the English housewife in the Renaissance, and two CD ROMs on Shakespeare. His current work is focused on the Internet Shakespeare Editions (ISE), of which he is Coordinating Editor.
